Checkmate

I don’t know much about chess but I do know when you say “checkmate” it’s over somebody is about to win! Me personally I’m trying to be on the winning side. Here lately I’ve been asking myself more and more how do I position myself for success. And this dress just makes me feel like a trophy!! We will get into those details later honey.

As we embark on another week I want to send positivity and encouragement. Honestly, I believe we all get tired and I know personally there have been several times this year when I’ve felt discouraged. In 2020 we’ve taken a lot of unexpected L’s lol but we have to find ways to keep pushing forward. Below are some things I’ve been focusing on daily. Remember to control what you can control.

1. Believe in the Unseen

In simple terms this is faith. Faith is believing in what you do not see but knowing it will come to pass. Set your sights on your overall success every day; let this be at the forefront of your mind regardless of what you see in the present moment. Remember smalls steps are still progress.

2. Remember Your Why

There is actually a book called Start with Why? A lot of times when people ask “what do you do?” My response “I am a plus size blogger/influencer. Learn to start with your why. Instead my response could be I love to empower women and inspire them through fashion to love their bodies and live a life full of self-love and confidence. Your why is the passion behind the job.

3. Be Your Own Champion

Sometimes you have to be your biggest fan! Cheer yourself on when nobody else cheers for you. Learn to be confident in your greatness. I read something that said talent will get you the invite. Hard work will open the door, but a good spirit will keep you seated at the table.

4. Surround Yourself with Winners

When you have a good support system it keeps you going on days when you need an extra boost! I will tell you I have a great group of friends and family who are always looking out for me. From sending me brands that are looking for ambassadors, photo shoot inspiration, and various tips for new bloggers. Plus, the influencers I follow really push me; we all understand the daily grind. Honestly seeing other women win gives me much needed motivation.
