True Life #SocialDistancing

Hey loves! These have been some crazy and uncertain times, but I have found time to reflect and learn a lot even in the chaos. Check out these four things that have really hit home for me as I have been forced to sllllooooowww down.

  1. I Needed Rest - Girl I can’t count how many times I’ve complained about being tired! Life for me had become a 2.5 - 3 hour commute everyday in these Atlanta streets. If you know anything about traffic in Atlanta you feel my pain sis!! I can recall myself saying, “ I wish I had a weekend where I had nothing to do, because I’m always on the go! Well let me tell ya’ll a sista is RESTED now LOL

  2. The Simple Things - When I tell ya’ll the joy I’ve gotten from going on my daily walks! The sun shining on my face, my music, fresh air, admiring the flowers, and a simple wave from a neighbor. I am so thankful to find joy in the things that I often took for granted.

  3. Time to Meditate & Pray - This time has obviously slowed us all down. Honestly I literally had plans for every weekend well into May! But now I have time to focus on myself, my goals, and overall growth. I’ve found myself praying, reading, and just talking to God! Sometimes God has a way of slowing us down, and if we are willing to listen beautiful things can happen.

  4. Thank God for Technology - Listen!! Between FaceTime, Google Hangout, Zoom, InstaStories etc. all these things have kept me connected with friends and family. Just the other night I had some much needed girl talk just to feel their energy, laughter, and love brought me so much joy! Honey we all had our adult beverages and was just sippin and chatting like we were at someones house. Not to mention I’ve still been able to workout and connect with my gym family through live workouts on Facebook and Zoom.

Stay Encouraged This Too Shall Pass. Sending lots of love, peace, joy, and productivity to you during this time!

XOXO Ya Girl Next Door.
