Black Girl Joy

When I first launched my blog and began to share more on social media my first thought was “What will people think?” Will people think I am seeking attention? Then I remembered we oftentimes lose the battle in our minds. Our mind can be a dangerous place and can lead to our own demise or success. Today I say silence the noise and go for it!

Here are 3 Ways to Embrace Your Greatness

1.   Invest in Yourself – I know this can be cliché and we oftentimes say it, but really do it! This can look different for everyone. Which can range from reading, working out, attending webinars or training’s, mending relationships, going to therapy, or praying. One major thing I did was reach out to like-minded women with the same passion and learned from them and their craft. Investing in myself for me was learning more about blogging, content creation, social media analytics etc. When you start to invest in yourself if gives you an added boost of confidence to conquer new goals.

2.   Learning to Say No – I always considered myself to be selfless. I truly care about the well-being of others and love to see people thriving. I learned with being so selfless I started sacrificing my own happiness for others. The more I began to do things I did not want to do for the sake of others I realized I was shrinking myself. I started being picky in how I invested my time. Most importantly learning to say ‘no”. I had said “yes” so many times in my life when I really meant no. Use your voice saying no does not mean you’re a bad person.

3.   Practice What You Preach – I love giving advice, listening to friends, and just being a voice of reason. I soon realized I would share the most inspiring things on social media, but did I really believe them for my own life? It was important for me to start believing the affirmations and put them into action. I know we often says, “things are easier said than done”. This is true, but I am learning to simply practice what I preach. I deserve all the great things I share with others.

I hope these things helped you. I am excited for this chapter of growth in my life, and I hope you are too in yours. We are embracing greatness and stepping into doors we never thought we would.
