Falling Forward

“You have to cherish things in a different way when you know the clock is ticking, you are under pressure” - Chadwick Boseman

The shocking and painful loss of Chadwick really caught everyone off guard. His accomplishments at the young age of 43 were truly remarkable. In such a short time here you could tell he was living everyday with purpose. Honestly, for me losing good people that I feel had so much more to give always hits home for me. It always reminds me that we are truly on borrowed time another day is not promised. This man took everyday he had and used it to make a difference. Something I really learned from reading about him since his passing is the process. He continued to recognize the struggles and how each step was paving the way for his success.

One thing I will say 2020 has taught me is that the things we’ve put off because we thought we had time may not ever happen. We are truly living in the unknown everyday it’s literally something new. Don’t wait until it’s perfect to start do it now! Do it scared, do it fearful, do it anxious, do it tired just do it. Start the blog, start the podcast, start the business. The image of perfection has caused many of us to sit on ideas and our talents. Our imperfect moments are what make us special.

As we move into this new month and head into fall. I challenge you to fall forward into your purpose actually nose dive no run like your life depended on it! Lol Below are some tips to push yourself deeper into your purpose.

Develop Productive Habits - Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. I will be the first to say when I started this blog I was super excited and on fire. But sis as time went on ya girl got a lil lazy. So for September I decided to create a new morning habit. I have gotten into a bad habit of waking up and checking my phone. Recently I have decided to start each day with the Lord first. I’m starting with prayer and devotion. I need to stay close to the one who is answering prayers and guiding me through this process.

Work Now Sleep Later - Know that you will have to put in the time and effort. You might not get a fulls nights rest, you may have to work a 9-5 and work on your passion 6-midnight. My motto at this point is grind now play later.

Give Room For Error- Give yourself grace. Provide yourself the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them. Mistakes are truly teachable moments, and know your mistakes can help others in a similar situation.

Maintain Your Pace - Slow and steady wins the race! I know sometimes we want to do everything all at once, but remember its not a race its a marathon. Stay in your lane be your own competition, don’t worry about what others are doing. Maintain a consistent pace and it will pay off.

Learn to Deal with Disappointment - Disappointment is just apart of the process. Whether you are disappointed in yourself or others it will happen. My best advice is to never dwell in the disappointment push through and remain steadfast in your purpose.

Push harder everyday to learn why you were placed on this earth what is your gift to the world. What legacy will you leave behind? Remember to always live in gratitude, and once you get to where you want to reach back and grab someone else and bring them forward too. We will all win.
