We Got Clothes At Home

At some point last year, I was losing steam regarding content creation. I wasn’t necessarily growing; I was actually losing followers daily. I had also found myself in the rat race of feeling like what I had wasn’t enough. I was constantly purchasing new clothes, in all honesty, to keep up with other content creators, and I was even contemplating buying new/better camera equipment because, in my mind, my quality wasn’t good enough. I was convinced the lighting in my apartment was also holding me back. But along my content creation journey, I’ve also been growing spiritually. I was reminded that God supplies all our needs, and it’s important to rest in his sufficiency. And indeed, if I have nothing else in this life with God, I have more than enough.

So, from this, my content strategy shifted. I realized I have everything I need right in my closet. Not only do I have more than enough, but I also need to steward what I have better! I have found so much joy in reaching into my closet and being thankful for the items I own. An added bonus; over 3,000 new followers have found my page. I didn’t have to buy a closet full of new clothes; I didn’t have to buy new camera equipment; I didn’t have to find a more aesthetic space to create content. I want to encourage content creators not to get caught up in comparison but to remind you that you already have everything you need. And I want to encourage us all to rest in the Father; his grace is sufficient, his love is overwhelming, his timing is adequate, and he is more than enough. Keep him at the center of all things and continue to grow in him. Here’s a few scriptures to help you along this journey! Keep praying for me as I pray for you.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV

“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,”

2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.””

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬
