I like the saying control what you can control. At this point in my life something I can control is my overall health and wellness. I love the way my body feels and looks when I am working out. I have more energy and feel even more confident in my clothes. Quite frankly during this pandemic working out has been one of the things that has helped me maintain some normalcy.

Here are 3 ways to stay motivated to work out:

1.       Purchase Some Cute Workout Gear

Just as we invest in clothing for other occasions purchase some new workout clothes to jump start your workout routine. I can honestly say I used to always workout in t-shirts and just some type of workout legging. I was never comfortable solely wearing a sports bra, but recently I realized working out is more enjoyable for me when I love what I am wearing! I still want to feel feminine, sexy, and comfortable in my clothing even if I am working out. The featured set here is from Lane Bryant and not only does it look great it passed the workout test! Meaning my bust and booty were well secured throughout my workout lol I could workout with confidence knowing everything was going to stay in place sis! It’s hard enough to workout and knowing your active wear will support you on this journey is crucial.

2.       Utilize Your Surroundings

This pandemic has really forced me to utilize my surroundings and resources. One of the biggest things that motivated me was getting outdoors! There is such beauty in going to your local park or neighborhood and just appreciating your surroundings while exercising. If anything, this time has shown us you don’t have to attend the gym to lose weight. Going for daily walks has become a new part of my routine that I will keep doing moving forward.

3.       Pace Yourself

When we were first ordered to shelter-in-place I set a goal to at least walk my neighborhood or go to the trail. The first week I vowed to walk my entire neighborhood once. The next week I vowed to walk my entire neighborhood twice. Each week I increased the laps I would take around my neighborhood. I slowly paced myself by listening to my body. Eventually I started jogging a little and even added some ankle weights to my routine. With working out you will eventually get stronger and stronger so take each day slowly. Sis I been working out for years and still trying to do a regular push-up. It’s ok! As long as you keep moving!
