Where’s My Pot of Gold?
Y’all I’ll be 29 tomorrow, and I can’t believe I’m entering the last year of my twenties. So thankful for all the lessons and setbacks. In talking with many of my close friends who are beautiful, educated, loving, and all-around amazing women everyone is asking where’s my pot of gold?!
Fringe Benefits
So my first major collaboration and I get to work with Torrid! I am extremely thankful and loved this opportunity. I literally fell in love with this look from head to toe! So let’s get into it!! I’ll be sharing the benefits of each item you see in this fun look.
Poetic Justice
I’ve learned that suppressing your truth is not keeping the peace. I spent a lot of time saying yes to things I wanted to say no too. In hindsight, I was afraid of the backlash and hated any type of argument.
Back to the Basics
Sometimes getting back to the basics can apply to so many areas in life also your wardrobe too. I love having statement pieces, but having key basics will withstand all the trends. Basics, are items you can practically wear for any occasion, dressing them up or down to suit your needs and style. Basics can be combined with a great cardigan, belt, blazer, heels, flats, or tennis shoes the options are literally endless.
Tropical Dreams
I don’t know about y’all but I would love a tropical vacation right about now! On somebody island drink in my hand, bathing suit, soaking up the sun. Instead, I’m home but it’s nothing like a great sundress to give you those vacation vibes.
Comfy & Cute
Versatility is always a huge plus when it comes to clothing. Something where you can just be free. Whether you are feeling bloated or know you gone need some extra stretch to eat your favorite meal in peace! These buttons and zippers don’t want you to be great.
Black Girl Joy
When I first launched my blog and began to share more on social media my first thought was “What will people think?” Will people think I am seeking attention? Then I remembered we oftentimes lose the battle in our minds. Our mind can be a dangerous place and can lead to our own demise or success. Today I say silence the noise and go for it!
All Tied Up
So, we officially made it through the first 6 months of 2020! (pops imaginary bottle) We deserve a drink! How are y’all feeling? We have lived through some crazy times. I told somebody I can’t wait to tell my kids, “Do you know what we went through in 2020, you better be happy you can go to school!” Despite all that has happened I am still optimistic and excited about the future.
Bloom Baby Bloom
When I think about this look, I get all the summertime feels. Reminiscing of the summers riding with the windows down listening to the newest music. Shopping for vacation looks, brunch dates, beach trips, concerts, and days at the park. This look is a whole vibe sis!!
Be Fearless. Be Bold.
I’ll do it when I lose more weight. There’s plenty of plus size bloggers/influencers. I don’t know how to model. I don’t know how to blog. I don’t have time. Before I had even begun this journey I had lost the battle in my head with negative self-talk.
True Life #SocialDistancing
Hey loves! These have been some crazy and uncertain times, but I have found time to reflect and learn a lot even in the chaos. Check out these four things that have really hit home for me as I have been forced to sllllooooowww down.
Ready to Ruffle
My first ALL WHITE PARTY everrrr!! Have y’all ever noticed how white looks so classy, and plus I love a good reason to shop! My first thought was if black makes you look smaller is white going to make me look bigger? But my second thought was, a sista got cellulite a few dimples and ripples here and there would they be more visible lol?
Fun, Flared and Flirty
Listen when I tell y’all I have fallen in love with flare jeans I am in love sis!! When skinny jeans started coming out when I was in middle school you couldn’t pay me to wear anything else (unless my mama bought them I had no other choice sis was broke LOL).
